GREETINGS FROM WASHINGTON D.C.

GREETINGS FROM WASHINGTON D.C.Fr Bob at White House

The bus driver we had to Assisi in Italy last summer gave me the wrong dates of the Pope’s visit to Washington D.C., so I missed Pope Francis. But his presence is still felt here.

While at Annunciation Parish in Washington this past weekend, I had the opportunity to visit all the wonderful monuments and memorials of this historic and beautiful city. If you haven’t been to Washington D.C., put it on your bucket list.

What stood out the most was my visit to the Arlington National Cemetery.

Seeing the rows and rows of the graves of the hundreds of thousands of people who sacrificed and gave their life for all of us was again very moving.

Oh the gift of the ‘sacrifice’…hard not to think of why Jesus has such an impact on so many people with his suffering and sacrifice.  I mean He saved the world!

Seeing is believing…but even more…believing is seeing all that is good in this world.

    Don’t stop looking!
