Fr. Dick’s Spiritual Reflection 10/7/2026
“Have faith and say, “Yes!”
Do you think there are any Catholics who don’t know what the rosary is??
Today is the Feast Day of Our Lady of the Rosary and we take a day in October to honor her and thank God for the gift of the Rosary Devotion.
My reflection is on the actual time when Mary was asked to be the Mother of Jesus. I can’t imagine how difficult that was! What would you do if an angel appeared to you?? She had such great faith that she never questioned God but wondered how this could happen since she was a virgin. She took the response from Gabriel and accepted this.
Who does she tell? Her mom, Anne, must have been in heaven since she went to her cousin with the news. We know her parents weren’t at the birth so, she handled this by herself. Mary has defined faith as, “To trust without question.”
Perhaps that is the lesson for this Feast Day. Rosary is just a devotion to honor Mary and her saying, “YES” to God’s call, but the real lesson is about faith.
What a gift we have!
