Exercise Your Brain
Today is maybe the greatest feast day of all…….my saint’s feast day, St. Robert Bellarmine. And it is also my father’s feast day and above all the feast day of our new pope whose first name is Robert.
Robert Bellarmine was born in Italy and his uncle was a pope. As a young boy he was interested in learning. He was fluent in Italian and Latin.
Robert Bellarmine joined the Jesuits when he was 18. He continued his pursuit of knowledge and learned other languages. He became a great teacher and preacher and was recognized by his superior and the pope. He became a cardinal and a Doctor of the Church.
His inspiration and challenge was to be passionate about learning….to never stop exercising the wonderful gift of our brain. Do wordle, crossword puzzles, jumble or sudoku. Keep the mind active.
