Last Sunday we moved from daylight saving time. We gained the hour we lost last March when we began daylight saving.
I was remembering a guest on Johnny Carson’s show many, many years ago who said he would not change his clock for this. He claimed that it was taking an hour from him and he didn’t want to wait until November to get that hour back.
My reflection today is about the use of time. TIME is something that is freely given and we are free to do whatever we want with it. Often I ask if I waste time. Sometimes I pass time by watching TV but the programs aren’t that fulfilling.
Reading the lives of different Saints, I am reminded of how they made such good use of their time for others. It seemed as if they felt time was given to them by God to make the lives of others better.
So, I reflected on the challenge of using that FREE time for others. But first, it means I am willing to use a chunk of that time in prayer to be able to follow the example of the saints.
So at least I got the hour back that I lost last March and I won’t lose it again until daylight saving time begins again.
