Retreat Reflections
In the summer, priests and sisters usually make their annual retreat. Some of them last for eight days and others five or so. The idea is to take some time away from normal ministry and focus on renewal and strengthening of their vocation.
In my reading of what retreatants sometimes may reflect upon, I have come up with some statements that may be applicable to all of us. Here they are:
- We’re not perfect and it’s okay.
- Learn the difference between wanting and needing.
- Stop complaining and blaming others.
- Happiness is not over the next horizon.
- Learn that it is in GIVING that we RECEIVE.
- Negative thoughts take the life out of you.
- Take responsibility for your actions and life.
- Life is not fair. God is good and bad things do happen to good people.
- Know the definition of love.
I call this the “Great Awakening.” I would love to be able to make all these true in my life. Pray for me as I will do for you.
