“Giving Thanks”
Tomorrow we welcome one of our favorite celebrations…Thanksgiving.
For many, it is a special family dinner where there is much joy and happiness. And there is the time to say “thanks” for so many good things and time to thank God.
When my brother and I met Pope Leo XIV in October, we were moved by his genuine ‘thanking” us for our many years of service as priests. I will remember that tomorrow. I don’t think I will ever be grateful enough, especially to God.
When I become Pope (well maybe I will just pray), I will make Thanksgiving a Holy Day of Obligation because I can’t think of a better way to say “thanks” than to celebrate Eucharist. The very word means ‘to give thanks.” So if you can’t make it to Church tomorrow, say a little extra ”thank you” before you attack the turkey.
PS…….Thanks for your following us on our website and for your support of our Mission.
