“Have no Fear”
The one thing that prevents so many things from happening is FEAR. So, I was reading about things said to conquer this force.
One person who had an answer was a Saint who had this to say, “I fear nothing for God is with me.” And the feast celebrated tomorrow honors the one who said it…..St. Barnabas.
He is the one Saint mentioned with the apostles who never was one of the ‘Twelve.” His cousin was St. Mark who wrote one of the gospels. His close association with Paul may have been the reason for the inclusion.
Barnabas was a missionary who traveled so often with St. Paul and like St. Paul, was responsible for the countless number of conversions that brought so many people to the church. Barnabas spent much of his life in Greece and is credited with establishing the Greek Orthodox Church. He was known as the patron of Cyprus, the city where he was martyred.
I will honor St. Barnabas tomorrow by figuring out more ways to help people conquer their fears.
