SAFE TRAVELS POPE LEO
Our Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, is now traveling to Africa for an extended period of time and my reflection is to ask for prayers for safe travels.
On this morning, one of the readings for my morning prayer was a letter written by Pope Leo the Great. I thought it was one of those God movements, as this Pope travels, to have that particular letter which spoke about….being a Good Shepherd.
That’s exactly the image he portrays as he began his trip in Algeria where he is the first Pope to visit there where the Catholic population is about 8,000.
Pope Leo will then travel to Cameroon and Angola before finishing his 11 day trip in Equatorial Guinea.
The Catholic Church is growing in Africa and Pope Leo wants the country to see he is tying to be the good shepherd for everyone and I’m sure he would like to see some unity between Christians and Muslims as he strives to be the Pope of Unity and Peace. Let us pray for his success and safety.
