Passion and Perseverance
“They laughed at Lincoln, but he went ahead and built the highway anyway.”
I’m just reflecting on passion and perseverance. And these two qualities are sure requirements for success in anything. Dick and I were reminded of this on our trip to Garden City, Kansas this past weekend. The six hour trip takes us through the heartland of Kansas and we are able to see these two qualities at work. Rural America lets us see these qualities in the farming life. We are so dependent on farming and it is such a difficult task for so many families. It takes so much passion and perseverance to keep a farm going and in so many ways it is such a beautiful landscape. It was so nice to see God’s creation without any city buildings…just the land and its beauty. We were reminded to be grateful to God for the people who continue to farm this land of ours. Gives me an appreciation for all those who garden. Continue to let us see God’s hand at work.
