Spread the “Good News”
First of all, I want to thank all of you for praying for our sister Mary Ann’s surgery. She had a knee replaced yesterday and everything went well. I think this was her 29th surgery. Yikes!!
The picture is of a sculpture outside of a church in Texas where I conduct a parish mission every year. It is remembering Mother (now Saint) Teresa. Tomorrow is the feast of Saints Peter and Paul and my thoughts are of how they showed us the call to serve God by spreading the “Good News.” I’m reflecting on how many wonderful people followed the urging of people like Peter and Paul. St. Teresa surely was one who did. I could have shown a picture of a statue of St. Vincent DePaul, but that would have been too self serving and biased, even though he would have easily made Mother Teresa’s team in caring for the poor and needy.
So I’m challenged today to spread the “Good News”….God is around and there are many who show us that!
