Fr. Dick’s Spiritual Reflection – 11/09/2017
Today we celebrate the feast of the Dedication of the Basilica of St. John Lateran in Rome.
Today we celebrate the feast of the Dedication of the Basilica of St. John Lateran in Rome. It brought back the memories of our Mission Cruise to Rome when we visited all four of the Major Basilicas in Rome: St. Peter’s, St. Mary Major and St. Paul’s, and St. John Lateran. That was a great trip!
It was a great trip because of Rome, the people and the Mission conducted there. We are most grateful..Which brings me to THANKSGIVING. It is a time of deep gratitude as we pray and reflect on ALL of God’s blessings.
Our mission work has been so blessed because of the support and generosity of all of you who believe as we do. For this we are most thankful. The First Thanksgiving was a time when people of different backgrounds, different faiths and different futures came together as one to praise and thank God for all He does for His children. We must continue to do the same.
As you celebrate this Thanksgiving with family and friends don’t forget the Lord. The word EUCHARIST means to give thanks. Perhaps going to Mass would be the main celebration along with the dinner and the football games enjoyed later in the day.
Appreciate your love and support of the Parish Mission Work we do. Please say a prayer for Fr. Bob. He is struggling with a health issue. Needs a healing of the infection he has. I’m sure with all the prayers storming heaven for him, he will be back to normal quickly!
Thank you
