Returning to Church
“Let’s meet at my house on Sunday before the game”……….GOD
At Cardinal Cupich’s tv mass on Sunday, he encouraged people to return to Church. He is aware that many people stayed away because of Co-Vid concerns. With things getting a little better it’s time to have our churches come alive again. Celebrating God’s presence has so much more meaning when celebrated with others who share the same faith.
Tomorrow the Church celebrates the dedication of the Basilicas in Rome of St. Peter at Vatican City and St. Paul Outside the Walls. These two mark the tombs of Saints who shaped the Church. And St. Peter’s Basilica represents the heart and soul of the Church today. A visit there is an unforgettable experience because of its history and significance and a “bucket list” must. And I won’t forget.
While celebrating this memorial on Thursday, let it be a reminder of the joy of celebrating the Church. Thanksgiving is just a week away and I for one will be thanking God for Church in my life. Maybe a special trip to your church would be so welcome by the One who is there.
