St. Andrew the Apostle
The picture with this reflection is the chapel of the seminary where my brother and I were ordained Vincentian priests. I remembered the place this morning as we celebrated the feast of St. Andrew the Apostle. With all the things the apostles did with Jesus, none compare to their best experience that they had with Jesus. They were his guests at the Last Supper. What a great honor and what a great celebration!
Of all the wonderful experiences that I have had as a priest, especially as a member of the Vincentian Parish team, none compare with the humbling experience of bringing the Last Supper alive for so many people who cherish the Eucharist. As you grow through Advent, sneak in an extra celebration of the Eucharist. I’m so glad God called me to that chapel 50 years ago.
