Feast of the Holy Family
“Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.” Famous line from a story in the New York Times many, many years ago. But the presence and presents of goodness was warmly felt in the Gielow home in Tucson just a few days ago with the honoring of the birth of Jesus. Hope it was the same for you. The focus turns to his Mother and Father as we will celebrate the Feast of the Holy Family next weekend.
I like to reflect on how lucky Jesus was to have such a great family. His Mom had such a love of God and wanted to do whatever He wanted. And so she became the handmaid of the Lord and easily said…Your will be done. His father was so protective of Mary and her new born son. I imagine those early days in the carpenter shop were fun.
I’m glad we will celebrate the Feast of the Holy Family next Sunday and so I thank God for my family. I pray you will be able to do the same. The family and Santa Claus….a real winning combination.
