Spiritual Reflection

At a recent mission in North Carolina, a couple was sharing with me their pain since their grown sons don’t go to mass.  Their mother was telling me that they say they believe in God but not church.  I told her to tell them that they may believe in Him but they don’t love Him.  If you love someone, why would you not go to their house?  Jesus waits for us every weekend, every day to pay Him a visit.  He would love for us to be with Him on Sunday for the great miracle of the Eucharist.

The picture is one of a beautiful tabernacle.   We respect the presence of Jesus in such a vessel.  People go to these special places and honor His presence.  I remember when we were in grade school, people would stop by at all hours to pay a visit to the Blessed Sacrament.  Many long for these days again.  I applaud all of you who continue to give honor and respect to the Presence of the Lord by your visits and attendance at Eucharist.  Let’s pray for those who need His presence.
