What is Really Important in Our Lives
The picture for this reflection is from St. Lawrene school in Lafayette, IN where Fr. Bob and I are conducting a parish mission. I was thinking as I visited this classroom how great it is to be around innocent children who only want to learn and have fun. They don’t have hidden agendas. They are not angry, they listen and get along. They enjoy simple things and love being with their classmates AND they love Jesus!
It was a reminder to me to remember what really is important in my life. I sometimes let things get to me that really aren’t that important in the grand scheme and forget to focus on what really matters. Guess that’s why God and faith are so important. Once I start with God and use the gift of faith He gave me it is a lot easier to trust and relax in his presence. Then I will look and feel like the students in the classroom who enjoy life as it comes to them laughing and figuring out how to have more fun!
