Why Did Jesus Come Back?
Why did He come back after he rose from the dead? After the resurrection, Jesus appeared a few times to his friends and disciples. I think, it was because He wasn’t sure that His disciples understood what they were supposed to do after He had left them…even though He seemed to be quite clear when he taught and preached while still with them.
He wanted them to continue doing what He did…making God’s presence felt…letting people know God loved them. So I thought He wanted them and us to be a “bridge” between God and His people, to keep all of God’s children connected to God. So the bridge has to be working. Sometimes it needs to be repaired. The last time he appeared, He let us know the bridge can be repaired through forgiveness. Like Johnny who confessed that he used profanity because it would save him from a nervous breakdown. He still needed forgiveness and the bridge could be fixed.
